New Orleans: Harmanson, 1945. Fourth printing. Original Wraps. Octavo, pp. 93, with an introduction by Stanley Clisby Arthur. 41 monochrome photographs of lovely French Quarter architectural details, by "a native son of Creole New Orleans [who was] the leading photographic exponent of these charms of this delightful quarter of the city of his birth." The introduction notes that this was the photographer's first published work. There is also a small portrait photograph of Delcroix on page 13. Very Good. Item #5502
Nice copy of a scarce title. Despite his prominence, PATIOS, STAIRWAYS AND IRON-LACE BALCONIES remains the only publication specifically showcasing Delcroix's work. Of onterest for the architectural historian, period metalworker, and photography historian. The images are aesthetically beautiful as well as technically important.
