This book is an outline history of American domestic architecture from Colonial Times to the end of the 19th century. The content originally appeared as a series of papers in Architects and Builders' Magazine, and the interest shown in them led the publisher to suggest consolidating them in a more permanent form. Some new illustrations were added, and some plates were enlarged. As with all Comstock-published books, scarce.
