This compilation of maps assembled by the New York state engineer and surveyor contains maps of boundary lines between New York and neighboring states and Canada, a map of Chautauqua Lake outlet, and plans for lengthening a lock and for lift bridges over Champlain Canal. John Bogart (1836-1920) served as the New York State Engineer and Surveyor from 1888 to 1891, and was the consulting engineer in numerous large-scale projects across the country, ranging from parks to bridges and dams. This assemblage documents an important era in the USA and is currently the only copy available for sale.
