This catalog shows all the essential items in the Greenlee line of mortising and boring tools for machine use, including chisels, chisel bits, routing bits, machine bits, countersinks, drills, boring machines, hollow chisel mortisers, and more. The company was founded in 1862 by identical twins Robert Lemuel and Ralph Stebbins Greenlee. Their father had patents for barrel-making machines, developed in response to the discovery of oil in their part of Pennsylvania. The brothers took their business to Chicago by 1866, and developed other product lines. In 1904 they relocated to Rockford, and were acquired by Ex-Cell-O in 1974.
