Shepley Bulfinch is an international architecture, planning, and interior design firm with offices in Boston, Hartford, Houston, and Phoenix. Shepley Bulfinch created these images for holiday greeting cards and gifts for their clients. The building shown here was designed as the second of a planned two-phase project for Logan Airport designed by Joseph Priestley Richardson and Henry Richardson Shepley, grandsons of the firm's founder, Henry Hobson Richardson. The Central Building was designed as the principal administration building housing the control tower, baggage facilities, and additional amenities. The design of the second phase was started in 1944 and completed in 1951, but funding issues halted its construction. The Logan Airport project continued the firm's legacy of designing major transportation terminals, including Boston's South Station and Union (North) Station.
