Modern Modes in Better Plastering.

Milwaukee, WI: Milwaukee Corrugating Company, 1925. First edition. Boards. Quarto, pp. 32, illustrated with b/w photographs. Very Good, cover soiled. Item #21744

In the early 20th century, a new American Period in architecture found expression through plaster. No longer was plaster regarded as merely a base for decoration; it had become the decoration itself. Texture and color-tone were skillfully combined, creating a wall decoration that needed no painting to enhance it. This book described the advantages of decorative plaster, and illustrated the various textures that were popular at the time. There are also many photos of beautiful home interiors that used decorative plaster, and a description of the use of metal lath as a surface for the plastering. This is the first time we've been able to offer this unusual book.
