Published for the centennial of the club, the author captured the heart and soul of the club with incredible and loving skill. The WAC was the first women's athletic club in the united states, and an integral part of Chicago society. The author used WAC's own records, and records from Chicago Historical Society, Newberry Library, Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago, and other local institutions, plus an oral history program that interviewed longtime members, including daughters and granddaughters of the club's founding families. Scarce; only 1500 copies were printed.
