Great resource. A very impressive publication, extremely well documented and illustrated. A case in point: Diana Waite's chapter on "Roofing for Early America" covers thatch, ceramic tile, wood shingles, slate, tinplate, zinc, galvanized iron, and composition roofing, all in scholarly yet readable style, beautifully illustrated and painstakingly referenced. A wonderful study for historians of the building trades and architecture.
