This issue is devoted to the work of the Olmsted Brothers company, a landscape architectural firm established in 1898 by brothers John Charles Olmsted and Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. , sons of the landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. The two brothers were among the founding members of the American Society of Landscape Architects and played an influential role in creating the National Park Service. Features include a private swimming pool, a club swimming pool, a planned view through a necessary footbridge, landscaping in a cemetery, landscaping on the banks of a river parkway, use of an imported architectural feature, a reflecting pool, and much more, with projects from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast.
