The variety of decorative objects depicted in this catalogue issued in 1857 by an iron fabricator demonstrates the versatility of iron as a material. It also gives insight into the innovative approach of Victorian manufacturers of iron consumer products. Only four copies of the 1857 catalogue are known, hence the need for this beautiful limited edition reprint. Profusely illustrated with drawings. At the time this book was published, Margo Gayle was the President and founder of the Friends of Cast Iron Architecture, a national organization devoted to fostering appreciation of American iron architecture.
