A Trip Thru the Home of the Vanishing Door with Mr. Evans.

Washington, IN: W. L. Evans Co., nd c. 1930. First printing. Staplebound Wraps. Small quarto, pp. 25, illustrated with b/w photographs. Very Good. Item #21085

This brochure took the reader through a tour of the company offices and the factory of W. L. Evans in Washington, Indiana. Photographs show the offices, drafting room, mailing room, boxing room, lumber yard, lumber storage, veneer room, and the machinery used in the tool room (cut-off machine for making hinges, broaching machine for making holes in the hinge plates, the automatic washer press for making washers, the spray booth, the turret lathe, the milling machines, and much more). The vanishing door is illustrated; the doors turn on cleverly-designed hinges that allow them to lie against the inside of a closet's wall, thus vanishing from sight when they are open. This is the first time we've been able to offer this title.
