Many of the houses pictured here had already proven their livability when this book was published, some were still under construction, and for some the drawings were completed just in time for this book. The book is crammed with plans and sketches (more than half of them in two colors) that will delight those who are marshaling their ideas and desires concerning the house they want to build. The text contains plenty of worthwhile advice on everything from the matters of design to the problems of hiring a contractor, and the ideas from an architect's notebook will apply to whatever kind of house you build. Rare in dust jacket.
