Frank Alvah Parsons was the president of the New York School of Art when this portfolio was published. Parsons wrote a bit about each of the color room designs, and Armstrong promoted the linoleum projects. It was a good match for Parsons, who established the first program in fashion design, interior design, advertising, and graphic design in the United States.
