London: Caxton, n.d. (1920s). First edition. Embossed cloth over boards; gilt lettering. Quarto, pp. 224, 232. Richly illustrated in color and b/w. Index. The original edition, not a reprint, and in good working order, for such large volumes that are often frequently referenced in the field. Very good. Item #19980
A monumental set on an important building trade! Despite their scarcity, we seem to find sets of Verrall's original editions (my UK colleagues are constantly 'on the lookout' for us!) Very comprehensive, written at a time when "the old trade skills" were much more common. A wonderful two volume treatment on the subject, and a very sturdy and nice set of a hard-to-find publication in the US!
