In twenty years of gathering books on building materials, this is the first copy of Street's architectural travels through Europe we've ever come across. An uncommon book, which reads like a Baedeker travel guide. The tagline "copiously illustrated" also says a lot: the author made numerous on-site drawings on wood, and had them turned into wood engravings for the book. Pictures here are pavements in Verona and examples of Italian building brickwork.
