The first American book to deal with motion pictures houses. This copy with an interesting provenance: with a receipt stamp of "Feb 19, 1916, Kilham & Hopkins" a noted Boston architectural firm specializing in movie theatres. The text is well illustrated by the author (an architect), with fine halftones of built theatres in Minneapolis, Chicago, Kansas City and New York. Several are influenced by Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright . An important and scarce book.
