American architect Henry Hudson Holly documented the stylistic development of domestic American architecture in the 1860s, when the Victorian Italianate style was at its peak. 34 structures are illustrated with house plans. In the preface, the author states that the publication was delayed by two years because of the War Between the States. Very rare; we've never had a copy of the first edition before. From the Old House Journal library.
