A group of Minnesota architects created the ASHSB in 1914 to provide a solution for theshortage of middle class housing in the U.S. By 1925, this monthly publication included articles on site design on small lots, building budgets, interior design, gardening, and other topics of practical concern for style conscious home owners on limited budgets. This particular issue includes articles on furniture, stone walls, wood paneling, weatherstripping windows, and oil heat, as well as eight floor plans.
