In the 1920s, the Zouri Drawn Metals Company invented a safer way to install storefront glass. Zouri's design utilizes a key-set sash in which the outer member of the sash is drawn against the glass by means of a small key instead of using direct (and hazardous) pressure on the glass. Many older and historic buildings still have Zouri storefronts in use today, and these scarce construction details are valuable for reference during renovation and maintenance.
