A thorough and very scarce guide to minerals that are "useful and interesting to persons engaged in mining pursuits, and in the manufacture of substances described." Four sections devoted to earthy minerals such as silica and alumina; haloid minerals such as sodium and chlorine; carbon compounds such as diamonds and biuminous coal; and metallic minerals such as cobalt and manganese. Very informative and detailed!
