This book was published in conjunction with an exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 2008, dedicated to an expansive evaluation of the past, present and future of the prefabricated house. This exhibit was the first since the 1950s that MoMA built an occupiable model building to demonstrate contemporary issues to the public. Materials from three continents illustrated how the prefabricated house has been, and continues to be, a critical agent in the discourses of sustainability, affordability, and design innovation.
