Another historic pattern book from this local Boston architect who built many homes in towns in and around the city, including Swampscott, Brookline and West Roxbury. The drawings, lettering and photography are superb. The book covers a wide variety of designs and plan arrangement for both smaller and larger homes, planned with a view to economy. Many of the designs are illustrated with exterior photographs, evidence that many of Stevenson's designs were already built and demonstrated of enduring quality.
