As well as a master book binder, Fritz Eberhardt was an internationally recognized calligrapher, type designer, woodcut artist, graphic designer, and teacher. He was born in Silesia, now a part of Poland, studied under Hermann Zapf, among others, and came to Pennsylvania in the 1950's with his wife. For this original linocut, he used his own unique style of lettering. He passed away in 1997.
