An extremely scarce commemorative pamphlet about New York's historic Hotel Chelsea and its heritage as a haven for artists, performers, and other creative people. Produced on the occasion of the Chelsea's centennial, with a congratulatory letter by Bess Myerson, the first Jewish woman to win the Miss America pageant in 1945, then the Commissioner of the NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs. Filled with statements and remembrances by residents and staff, as well as numerous photos, a list of famous Chelsea Hotel residents, and "The Hotel Chelsea", a poem by Edgar Lee Masters. A wonderful piece of New York City memorabilia!
