New York: American Museum of Natural History, 1976. Reprint. Staplebound Wraps. Rectangular Quarto, pp. 72, illustrations by the author in pen & ink line drawings on sepia paper. At the center is a selection of 8 of Sloane's works in full color, which are preceeded by their individual captions. This book takes us from the birth of the American Barn in the 1600's and shows us the progress through the ages. It also shows different roof styles, and hardware as well as how to "raise" a barn. Very Good. Item #10090
One of the better barn books, for many reasons, not the least of which are Sloane's accurate line drawings which are abundantly scattered about the text. This 72-page edition is an abridgment of the original 96-page book, sells for less, and includes all the color illustrations.
