This technical preservation bibliography was developed to assist owners, architects and administrative officials with the planning, review, and implementation of preservation work on historic lighthouses. Preservation work paid with federal funds must meet standards for historic preservation projects to preserve historic character and materials. It is, therefore, important that those planning the work on lighthouses and related structures be aware of how they were built, what materials they contain, and how these materials and features should be preserved.
