Written by the the "Design for Living" Editor of Mademoiselle Magazine, this volume is remarkable for its own lively graphic design: bright, bold and full of primary colors. Each chapter is has a colored envelop in which to keep floor plans, catalog cuts, fabric samples, and so forth, by room. The topics encompass space planning, historic periods, budgets, color theory, room design, finishes, and much more. The illustrator, Fred Chance, did covers for Vogue, Saturday Evening Post and artwork for the New York Times.
