[Children's Literature]. Grimm, Jacob and Wilhelm.

Grimm's Fairy Tales Retold in One-Syllable Words.

McLoughlin Brothers, Inc. Springfield, MA n.d. (ca. 1924) Octavo, pp. 142. Illustrated with b/w drawings, 6 chromolithographic plates. Some illustrations are "extra-colored", no doubt by a young reader.
A quite nice copy of this edition of Grimm's fairy tales, rewritten in one-syllable words for easy reading (although clearly a bit of cheating occurred to reduce the syllable count in many cases). Beautiful color illustrations.
