An interesting book on the subject from a psychological and mental development perspective by the important American logician, mathematician and psychologist Ladd-Franklin (1847-1930), who developed her own theory of color vision after studying the subject with German psychologist G. E. Müller. She was the first woman to receive a PhD in mathematics and logic, and the first woman inducted into the American Psychological Association.
