Features a marvelous hand-colored frontispiece depicting youths collecting butterflies while a man stands behind a table with preserving tools. The six hand-colored plates show diurnal, crepuscular, and nocturnal butterflies and moths and caterpillars. This is a very scarce and beautiful volume with the original cover illustrations preserved, showing images of butterfly collection tools and preserved specimens on boards.
